Writer looking for serious, talented artist

Post by roxiifoxii »

Hello!

I am currently looking for a talented artist to assist me in creating a comic, based on a story I have written. I am an artist myself, but presently cannot juggle both writing and illustrating the comic. I am currently dedicating myself to the storyline, and therefore need an artist.

I have designed one of the main characters, and that is where my progress ended art-wise, although most of my ideas are established.

The story is a fantasy- obviously I can't really give away too many details on here, but it takes place during an apocalyptic war that has been waging for a long time. A woman meets up with some soldiers, and eventually joins the war. The story takes place either long in the future, or in another world/realm (I'm not quite sure) so there are fantasy aircrafts and other fantasy objects in the story, which require imagination. There is a bit of romance in the story, and the characters are great, with detailed personalities.

I know it doesn't really sound too exciting, but I can't risk my ideas being stolen. It's a great idea, with the exciting possibility of becoming an animated series or movie. Overall, this is something that I am really serious about, and I am aiming to find the perfect artist to turn this into something really amazing.

Ok, moving on- here's what I need from you, the artist. If you feel as though you fit all or most of these qualities/talents, then you just may be selected for the job.

- Can draw in a "mature" or realistic anime style (no chibis, or overly exaggerated eyes and expressions) OR marvel/dc style.

- Can ink and tone art in photoshop or simiar program (photoshop preferred)--> comic will be black and white, not color.

- Can professionally color artwork for covers or other illustrations with either photoshop or similar program, or copic markers. Other media allowed, but I must see examples.

- Can draw backgrounds, objects, animals, and clothing well. I'm really aiming for a realistic feel.

Compensation: This is not a paid job, at this time. I understand that may be quite staggering, but to be honest, I am a 24 year old, recently out of college, and looking to make a name for myself. I am dedicating myself to writing this story, and am looking for someone to do the same with their art. Once this comic gets started, I am aiming to get it published, and then you would receive a large percentage of the profits earned; most likely split 50-50.

*** If you feel up to this challenge, please reply to this post with your name and email, and deviant art or other art page. Also describe your art style and media that you use, plus any computer programs you make use of as well.

*** If you do not have your art published online, then please email me samples of your artwork, at jeninoto@comcast.net. Also please describe your art style and media that you use, as well as computer programs you are proficient in. Don't forget to tell me your name, and write that you are an interested artist in the subject of the email.

If you are a writer as well, that is obviously a plus, so feel free to tell me other things about yourself! If you are chosen as my comic artist, we should become well acquainted.

~~

Thanks for taking the time to read this long post, and I invite all talented artists reply for consideration! This is a great opportunity and I can't wait to hear from you guys. :)

We'll teach you how to ink and colour digitally. It's perhaps easier (and cheaper) than you think.

i thank you for your offer, but the main reason that i stay away from those areas of comics, is that i dont have the patience to mess around with the coloring software function buttons.
